I casually mentioned my tumblr in class a last week and this really popular girl who kinda disses on me a lot was like “Oh yeah, tumblr! I’m super famous on there, I have like 100 followers, It’s so hard to get them on Tumblr I bet you don’t even have that many.”

"One thousand one hundred and eighty."

This is what Mozart actually looks like. The image was found in a radio station in Belgium. Fact - the Moors (Black people) brought Classical Music to Europe.
You’re welcome.

Not only that but when you read the REAL bios of him, he’s described as having brown skin, “negroid features” (broad, wide nose, etc) and wiry hair. There was a post going around back in February that was very enlightening.

Wasn’t Beethoven part Moor (Black) too? There was a book written about his hair because Europeans were so transfixed with it!

Yes, Beethoven was Black.
Real history returns.

Whoa, shizza.Googling like wild.

That really awkward moment when people are uncritically reblogging a kind of racist advert. Notice the writing on the bottom? Klara is a Classical radio station in Belgium. This is an advert for their new Jazz program on said station.

That’s the original undoctored, and very famous, painting of Mozart, which was painted after his death though approved by his sister. The OP is, if we’re being kind, a badly photoshopped painting of Mozart in Blackface.
Also, the evidence for Beethoven being Black largely rests on there being little evidence to prove he wasn’t. His mother was part Moor, a group who stopped being a thing in Europe about 400 years before his birth. Various contemporary sources point to his swarthy complexion and kinky hair, but that’s in relation to Western European nobility. They could just as easily been talking about an Italian.
It also erases Angelo Soliman, who was taken from Nigeria/Cameroon to Europe as a slave. Later freed, he went on to become a noted intellectual and was a much sought after dinner guest in Vienna. He was a contemporary of Mozart and Haydns, in fact belonged to the same Masonic lodge as them. Lodge records survives which shows they met on several occassions., and Bassa Selim in The Abduction From The Seraglio, by Mozart, is said to be modeled after him. He eventually became Grand Master of that Lodge, and is generally credited as turning the Freemasons in a more scholarly (and less mystical) direction.

Tumblr will literally believe anything you tell them. Notice there isn’t a single source. If you do a reverse image search of the image, it comes up with the original paintings of Mozart, which should be enough to alert alarm bells. There’s also absolutely no information about this that comes up on Google, apart from blogs and tumblrs.
Also, “bringing Classical music to Europe”? 20 seconds on the internet (and two years of GCSE music) will tell you that the Classical period of music is generally accepted as starting around 1750 - 6 years before Mozart was even born.

I can’t believe people on tumblr will honestly believe anything.
